An important prayer

by Paul on January 28, 2009

Ignatian Spirituality has the ambitious goal of encouraging us to open ourselves to seeing the world as God sees it and seeing our lives from God’s perspective.  So here is a short, but important, prayer for today:

I ask for the grace to see myself as God sees me
and to love myself as God loves me.

Reader Girl & Maura,

It is a powerful prayer as R-G suggests, but it also one that takes a long time to take completely on board, as Maura suggests. If we really believe in ourselves as intimately loved by God, it shakes our worldview to its foundations.
