Learn To Fly

by Paul on October 22, 2009

This video [4'30"] from South Africa shows an endangered Blue Crane learning to fly.  I gasped when the bird soared for the first time.

Thanks for this Paul. Really beautiful
I have added it to my blog… I have been doing some posts on Icarus recently so there is some nice synchronicity here.
On a different note, given the recent happenings in the Catholic church re Anglican mergers perhaps we all need to learn to fly again with a little help from our friends.
Best wishes
Phil

Phil,

Glad you liked the video. I will search out your blog to have a look. We all need to fly right and, preferably, in the same direction…

Watched this with my son peering over my sholder. We discussed 3 mini lessons from it.
1. The importance of taking time notice the beauty of God’s creation around us.
2. “Try, Try again!” that somethings are worth striving for even if we don’t get them right the first time.
3. The bird keeps circling back to his friend. (Brian’s insight not mine) So we discussed how we all need good friends when we taking on challenging endeavors.
I guess teachable moments do show up in the most unexpected times and places.

Do you mean fly to the right as in the political sense or we need to fly correctly as in properly ?!

Breath taking. The human and spiritual lessons from this are innumerable.
