Other 6 – Refreshed and Ready

by Paul on March 19, 2010

“Some of us find God at church on Sundays, but puzzle to find God the other six days of the week. Other6 is a community dedicated to helping each other to experience God at all times, in all things”

O6 for Blog

More than a year ago, Loyola Press took an experimental version of Other6 offline, but so many people asked for it back that we have refined and re-engineered it and are launching it today.

As before, Other6 attempts to bring the core of the Ignatian Examen (“examination of consciousness”) online by asking people to respond to two questions: Where did you find God today? and/or Where do you need to find God today? (You must register or sign in before you post.) You can track your responses to the questions over time to develop a deeper awareness of patterns in your relationship with God.

What’s new, apart from a fresh design which is more intuitive than before, is the availability of a free iPhone & iPad App [Go to the App Store at iTunes and enter Other6 into the search box].  An App for the Android platform will be coming along very soon.

Many, many talented people brought Other6 to birth, but I stubbornly claim that it is “my baby.”  I am certainly as proud and anxious as any new parent and am hoping that you will come to visit Other6 very soon.

Funny, I read about Other6 just this morning in the monthly Ignatian Spirituality email I get. I thought, hmmm, this sounds a lot like something Paul would do. Your parenthood shows! I’ll head over there.

I love the tag cloud….it’s like the murmured prayers of the faithful.

It seems that God has been calling me to Ignatian spirituality lately and learning about your site is another step in the journey. I am most delighted to discover this today. Prayers for your efforts – I look forward to being a part of Other6.

Regina,

Am I that predictable? I hope, in this case at least, it’s no bad thing.

Michelle,

The tag cloud is neat, but we still need to work on it to get rid of prepositions and other “superfluous” words. Thanks for your kind words.

Fran,

Welcome to our “merry band” of PFO-ers. I hope and pray that Other6 will lead you closer to God.

“Some of us find God at church on Sundays, but puzzle to find God the other six days of the week.”

Well, most Catholic parishes I know celebrate Mass on the other six days of the week. Those who are “puzzled” in their search for God on Monday-through-Saturday might try daily Mass. If that doesn’t work, there’s always the Rosary or the Liturgy of the Hours.
