I want to introduce you to our newest blog, Men on the Journey. The blog’s self-description states: “Inspired and guided by the groundbreaking work of Fr. Richard Rohr, Men on the Journey will help you discover your authentic, God-given self—the real you—by letting go of the things that hold you back.”
One of Richard’s key insights is that if we (both women and men) don’t transcend our pain then we’re going to transmit it to others. Ain’t that the truth?
Men, as everyone knows, have more difficulty talking about their inner lives than women and there are few enough places where guys can begin to tussle with the big questions in a safe and supportive environment. I believe that Men on the Journey will provide a sanctuary for people like me and I thank Tom McGrath and Joe Durepos for taking on the task.
[Full disclosure: We’re publishing On the Threshold of Transformation by Richard Rohr, O.F.M. later this summer and I am one of those who posted a comment.]
