God wants only the best for you. Do you believe this? In the current circumstances of your life do you believe that God wants only the best for you?
God’s loving creation of you, the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, the coming of the Holy Spirit, and the promise of eternal life insist that the answer must be that God wants only the best for you. But we live our lives in a messy world, one that gives us joys and suffering. Sometimes the evidence in our lives that God wants only the best for us seems feeble to us.
It is at such times that we should cry out to the Lord. What is it that we hope for from God? We place these hopes at God’s feet. And then we confront the difficult part. We ask God to grant us trust. We give our hopes to God unconditionally. We ask God that we live each day believing that God wants only the best for us. And we give joyful thanks.
