As Publisher of Loyola Press, I have responsibility for the content we produce. This past couple of weeks I’ve been having a tough but wonderful experience as I’ve tried to help our Editorial Team come up with ways to engage 13- and 14 year- olds in learning more about their faith. I am pitching in on the conceptual framework the experts will use to write lessons.
I’m fascinated by the insights that Joe Paprocki, our catechetical wizard, and Tom McGrath, our VP for Product Development have about how teenagers approach their faith. Tom & Joe are just as knowledgeable about what the Bishops require in terms of covering the material in a systematic way. There is a real pleasure in working with vastly capable people. It makes me want to “up my game” and to contribute as best I can.
I can’t wait to see the final result and I’m hoping that something I have suggested may help a young teen or two to better understand how much God loves them.
This is a great job. I am so blessed.
