I came across this some time ago and have been waiting for an opportunity to share it with you.  The United States at its finest.

Happy Independence Day.

What a nice man. Is he Mo Cheeks? Never heard of him but that poor girl needed him that day. Random acts of kindness get us all through from time to time.

Simon,

I presume that he is Mo Cheeks, but I don’t really know. And, yes, he is – to say the least – “a nice man.”

Took me a minute to type this – had to wipe the tears away first. Yes, your caption, “the United States at its finest” is very appropriate.
Thank you very much for sharing.
Happy Fourth of July.

Bob,

I, too, got a bit misty-eyed the first time I saw it.

Recently I read a suggestion to call it “interdependence” day rather than Independence Day. I think this is a perfect example of interdependence.

Thanks for sharing and to all my PFO friends in the U.S. best wishes for a great July 4th celebration!

Love that Lynda! Wouldn’t that impact our collective psyche!!

That was great! And I love the notion of ‘interdependence.’ Rugged individualism only goes so far, then we need each other.

Lynda,

Thank you for your kind good wishes. I join with the others in liking the idea of “interdependence” day but am Irish enough to want to celebrate Independence as well!

I too am wiping tears as I type. What a beautiful way to remind us all of our freedom to choose to love one another! Thank you for sharing it Paul.

God Bless and Happy fourth of July everyone!

Claire,

Thank you for your good wishes. I had a wonderful 4th – stayed inside in the cool for most of the day. Bliss!

That was excellent! I love that she laughed, didn’t cry, but laughed! He was a sweetheart! Thanks Paul! Happy 4th, I am heading into the woods for a couple of days!

This was just so touching I had to look up who Mo Cheeks is, and I read what he said when interviewed by CNN. He said, he didn’t know what he would do he just started walking he didn’t want her to be up there alone.

How many times have I not done anything because I was not sure what to do?
