Rosemary, our social media maven, wanted to explore my office. We first did it together as a video but, in the end, she preferred to take photographs and have me caption them.

Thanks for the tour…this is making me wonder what students make of what they see in my office!
I will admit to keeping my tea cup similarly close at hand…along with a teapot, kettle and a few spare mugs for visitors.
Now I want to go to Paul’s office for some tea, and to yours as well!
Fran, Anytime! All we need is the transporter to work!
Michelle,
Why am I not surprised that you are more hospitable than I am?
Paul
I love seeing other people’s desks/offices.
Observation/question #1; it is remarkably tidy/ordered. Did you tidy it up before hand or is it always like that? If you could see my working environment you would be appalled. The strange thing is I love uncluttered places and in fact my mental health is not helped by clutter at all. I really should become more disciplined and sort it out daily when I end my day.
Observation #2; Never, never, never subscribe to anything! You will never get off the list no matter how much they promise you otherwise
As to who you look like, I think you have your father’s eyes but I wouldn’t pick the two of you out in a crowd. Like all the best folk, you look like your own man
I am with you Simon, I am surrounded by utter chaos and can’t figure out why I can’t get things done. I love the clean, purposeful spaces too! But I think God just made me a big mess.
Simon & Annette,
I can take little or no credit for the tidiness of my office. Every month or six weeks, Kate asks me if I’m ready to go through the piles of paper on my desk.
It’s a chore I hate, but I feel great afterwards!
Paul
Oh this has made my day- and it is only 6:24am! Similarly to Simon, I love seeing other people’s desks and workspaces. And I *love* the photos of the photos!
Thanks for the midweek joy!
Fran,
Who knew that a few photos could bring joy?
Paul
Is the looks like your father because you are like your father? People tell Brian all the time that he looks like me even though the ony thing we have in common is an upturned nose. but he does have the same dry humor and verbal fencing skills.
I love how you have surrounded your self with things that you place value in and express your roots. I have tried to do simular with my office “art.” Early on I received some slack from a few parents about not puting my certification and degree on the wall but still havent done it and don’t intend to as it doesn’t really explain why I am there and what I am about. (I work in a suburb where that type of thing means alot to many people.)
I agree with Simon about your well organized space. I am green with envy. About once a month I set my self the task to decluttering my desk/office. It holds for a week sometimes more but then comes crashing in like the walls of the parted red sea on pharaoh and his chariots and charioteers. I am afraid I am a piler. I have several piles going at once I know what they mean but others see chaos.
Maura,
See my response to Simon above. I’m a piler, too. But I have a “piler patroller” to help me out.
Paul
I see you in both of your parents. There is a lovely blend.
I wish I was given an ordered mind, it would have made my life (and the life of those around me) so much easier. You can see what a mess I am by my workspace (although my kitchen is my workspace too and there is order and cleanliness there) and by my garden. I love to look at both to assess what is really going on with me. Right now, ummm….well, I will blame it on the kids since they just went back to school!
This is fun, I look forward to part two! Have a great day all!
Annette,
I think it’s most important to feel comfortable in your environment. I can live with some clutter, but if it gets a bit out of hand, then I start to stress about it.
Paul
My favorite bit of the slide show was seeing PFO open your computer screeen. Reminds me of my own office. Though unlike you, I can’t tell my boss I’m working when I’m on here.
Your mother has a really lovely smile.
How about *not* bringing up bats for a few days, OK? Please? (Shudder)
Thank you for sharing your physical space on cyberspace.
Denise
Denise,
I promise not to mention the “b” word for at least another month!
Paul
Me and my chiroptophobia thank you.
Denise
Hi Fr. Paul,
It was nice to see your office and the photos of your
family, I think that you look like your father.
Have a great day all!
Phil
Phil,
I not only think that I look like my father, I apparently behave like him, too!
Paul
How wonderful, this is Paul to have a tour of your office.
The title caught my attention.
Some members of my family watch the series “The Office”
Delightful and the last slide of you avec mustache? Astonishing!
