Here is the second part of Rosemary’s “investigation” into my office…
When you’ve finished, why not send me a photo of your work space (with a comment or two) and we’ll make a slideshow out of them?
If you’re receiving this via e-mail, click here to see the slideshow.

Haha I would have to tidy mine up first before I could take/send the photo
I would have to tidy mine up a bunch…
If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign? – Albert Einstein
I am in the progress of changing my workspace…but I want to accept the challenge…hmmm…
By the way, in the one where you may have sleeping you can just say you were praying….a deep meditative prayer…very deep…:).
not sure why this ended up here! Ha! Sorry!
Margaret & Anette,
It would be much more fun to see Margaret’s “natural” or untidied environment and, Annette, I could say that I was in deep meditative prayer… it just wouldn’t be true!

Whoa! I’ll take a photo of my home work space later i.e. the spare room. X certificate I’m afraid, so the usual parental guidelines will have to be applied.
I meant to raise this question yesterday but forgot. I noticed the product placement and was wondering whether Loyolparess was an Apple-zone for IT or does it vary across the team? I assumed there would be more open-source stuff going on.
I remember offering a Jesuit parish priest a PC to replace his old, ‘steam driven’ one that did not have a Microsoft operating system. I assumed he would appreciate being able to slip seamlessly between the documents and spreadsheets that he used and was sent by the rest of the world. I didn’t make that mistake again. He was very forthright in his opposition to the evils of monopolies
Simon,
Our friends at Apple would be quick to point out that Microsoft is no longer a monopoly…
Paul
Simon, many of us use PCs instead of Macs. We welcome computer users of all stripes!
This is delightfully good fun. I will send you a photo of the workplace later today!
Fran,
Thank you!
Paul
This is certainly fun! No one would want to see the “work” space of this retiree – all spread out – but I will enjoy seeing everyone else’s!
Lynda,
Oh, yes, we would like to see it!
Paul
I just love this.
Where I am employed because of privacy issues we can’t take pictures.
However I would enjoy seeing others PFO’s.
Carol,
I didn’t know that you worked for the White House!
Paul
I want to know how long it took you to clean it up.
My office is pretty neat, but I don’t actually work in there. I do have some photos somewhere, though. Where do we send them?
Very fun!
Robin,
An office where you don’t do any work? Sounds very like my office.
If you want to send photos, you can send them to pcampbell@loyolapress.com
Paul
Gave up my office “office” two years ago (don’t miss it at all!), but you don’t want to see what my home office looks like, but it works for me.
Bob,
Why don’t we want to see what your home office looks like? Now, I’m intrigued!
Paul
Hi to every one,
It is so nice to see how other people`s offies
look.
Thanks Fr.Paul
Phil
Phil,
It is fun, isn’t it.

With your head in your hands as you begin the blogging process, and your eyes closed as you begin typing, you would seem to be either deep in prayer, or in intense pain.
Hopefully this blog leads to more of the former than the latter, for you and your us readers. (It does for me!)
Tim – thank you for the Einstein quote. A motto to live by!
Denise,
It isn’t intense pain, but it is an intense effort to try to think of something new and/or thought-provoking to say!
Paul
I put some of mine into a blog post. Just what I needed to brighten a day that suddenly slid downward. Paul, you’re welcome to any of the pictures.
Robin,
I hope your day bottomed out and started climbing up again.
Paul
I enjoyed the stash of soup. I have a stash of emergency rations in my desk drawer. My colleagues know I can be depended upon to produce dark chocolate in dark times.
I grabbed my camera while my tea brewed and took a candid shot of my desk to send, complete with a pile of grading that I’m ignoring in favor of reading a fascinating paper on the Matthew effect for an essay that’s in the works. (See Mt. 13:12, the discussion is about recognition of scientists…I loved being able to get the joke!)
Michelle,
One of the many differences between you and me is that I would never be able to KEEP chocolate in my desk drawer. It would last about 3 minutes.
Paul
Aww, I’m moving to a new work so my work area is now almost empty. Gonna be a campus minister in a Jesuit middle school
Hi Jaymee,
I hope that the new job will go okay.
I will pray for you, and hope that God will with you.
All the best
Phil
Wonderful!
How absolutely wonderful. Prayers go with you.
Jaymee,
May the transition go smoothly!
Jaymee,
I join all the others in wishing you every joy in your new role. I trust you will share some of your success stories with us.
