One of my favs. This piece of music makes me think of the church today with the news of Pope Benedict’s resignation. Just as Copeland took an age old melody and explored it in new ways imbuing it with both joy and reverent majesty I hope that the church will look at herself anew , listen to the Holy Spirit and search for ways to embrace new life in Christ.
….at the heart of the universe is a smile, a pulse of joy passed down from the moment of creation…..and that is the feeling God had when He looked over what He had made and pronounced it good. In the beginning, the very beginning, there was no disappointment. Only joy.

This is a beautiful way to begin the day- especially with such big church news!
Fran,
Ah, yes, the Big Church News. Why is he resigning at 8:00p.m. Very odd.

On a gray day here, with the barque of Peter rocking with news, it was nice to have a quiet moment with this music!
Exactly my feeling
Michelle,
Having spent a week in the blazing sun and with lots of humidity, I’m reveling in our gray day!

Wow, there is nothing “simple” about those views!
