Find Your Inner Iggy is back for its second year. Starting today and running through July 31, we’re considering all the places we can find God. There’s a daily question which I’ll attempt to answer here, and you’re invited to share your answers in the comments [but also on Instagram, Twitter, Vine, and Facebook, using the hashtag #FindIggy].
Every day, our Bright Young Things will pick three of the best photos, tweets, posts, or videos and award them with Iggy gifts.
The first question I’m invited to consider is: How have you found God in an unlikely place?
My initial reaction is that there are no unlikely places to find God but, I suppose, there are areas where you might not expect God to be present. For some reason, I then remembered an experience from three years ago.
I took this photo while attending Digital Book World in New York City. A street vendor calmly and quietly stopped serving customers and, instead, served God.
He simply knelt down on the sidewalk and – amid the tumult and noise of Manhattan – tried to make himself one with his Creator.
I found it deeply moving.
